Thunder

God and the Devil are the best of friends
and sweet old heaven needs
a lemon thrown in now and again
to give a little zest
God appreciates the difference
although spitting out pips occasionally
but that’s Ok as long as his Mother doesn’t catch him
and they don’t land on you or me

yes, God and the Devil are the best of friends
sometimes having one hell of a time together
I’ve heard them banging around upstairs
on days like that it’s best to stay in bed,
till it’s safe to move around
with one foot firmly on the ground
