Beware the Ides of March
inconsequential words
dismiss before heard
or pertinent warning
prediction spawning
superstition by the clock
pure plain poppycock
or helpful confrontation
on inside information
snakes cross unseen
the path that has been
corners disappear from view
a car-crash unknown to you
decide a different flight
don’t watch the news at night
journeys through the red sea
without thought for safety
so Caesar sighs
on the day after he dies –
perhaps it better for me
to have heeded his plea
