Special Day

churinga red marked …
and the rain
do you remember the rain

reaching ‘The Steampacket’
late in the day
with that huge fire burning
and ‘Old Norm’
being part of the fixtures

but now embers reflective fly
sparking the daily mundane
with intensity magnified by the years
pokes at a certain perpetuity

while we pause a moment
share an internal smile
a quiet joy envelops
